RV Coriolis II

The RV Coriolis II is a 49.5m dedicated survey vessel operated by Seaforth based out of Quebec and Halifax, Canada. RV Coriolis II is ISM/ISPS certified for operations in both Canadian and international waters.

The RV Coriolis II is mobilised with a complete suite of hydrographic and geophysical sensors including multibeam bathymetry, sidescan sonar, subbottom profiler, magnetometer, USBL and processing systems, geotechnical sampling equipment such as corers, grab samplers and CPT with additional capability for high resolution multi-channel seismic systems. The vessel is also equipped with a dynamic positioning system (DP1), which provides excellent station keeping during ROV or sampling operations. The RV Coriolis II is equipped with a satellite telecommunication system (KVH TracPhone V7 Satellite Communications System) capable of worldwide voice/fax/data & e-mail communication on a 24-hour basis.

Seaforth has conducted marine geophysical and geotechnical surveys worldwide by mobilising required survey systems on local vessels of opportunity. Past project locations where vessels of opportunity were mobilised include, Canada, United States, Caribbean, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Pakistan just to name a few.


Seaforth is affiliated with Seaward Engineering & Research Ltd on the Canadian west coast and, where survey scope of works allow, Seaforth will utilise the resources of Seaward Engineering including their vessel the RV Richardson Point.
