Seaforth was contracted by Homarus Inc. for the provision of testing of various sonar reflector concepts and survey methodologies in order to increase the detection success of lost fishing gear with sonar. Testing was done in the Bedford Basin near Mill Cove with a variety of devices attached to test lobster traps. The site was chosen for trap reflectors due to varying soft and hard bottom types and varying water depths.
