Annapolis Basin Ghost Gear Survey

The Bear River First Nation contracted Seaforth to conduct a geophysical survey of select areas of the Annapolis Basin to search for Ghost Gear.

Seaforth utilized an Edgetech 4205 Sidescan Sonar in both a towed configuration and pole mounted (for shallow water areas) to locate targets.  Survey operations were conducted from a client supplied fishing vessel.

Over a period of 5 days, almost 1300 targets were identified within the basin, including lobster traps, scallop frames, mooring and clump weights, mooring lines and fish farm frames and netting.
