Seaforth in the Arctic

Seaforth headed north this summer, partnering with Inukshuk Geomatics Inc. to complete a bathymetric survey and caisson inspection within Thetis Bay (offshore Hershel Island, Yukon Territory). We also performed a bathymetric and seabed sampling program offshore Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories.

Tuktoyaktuk waters are being considered as a potential set-down location for the Tarsuit Caissons once they are moved from storage. The bathymetric program included vibracore and grab sampling  northwest of Tuktoyaktuk to identify the feasibility of using the caissons as breakwaters to mitigate shore erosion.
